Featured EVENT: Happy Birthday, Tempy!
Our favorite chestnut Morgan gelding, Tempy, turns 30 in May. Help us celebrate by joining us for cake and punch on Saturday, May 3rd at 6:30. He's a special guy, with a big fan club and more photos in magazines and newspapers than many (other) celebrities...!
All Tempy's many admirers (or potential admirers) are welcome!
(Tempy is shown here with Katie Ewen, a long term admirer, who teamed with him a couple years ago to win a series of blue ribbons.)
Summer Program: Register Now!
It will be warm and sunny before we know it - that mid-April snow was (probably) our last of the season....and that means now is the time to register for the Summer Program! More information is available in the viewing room and on the website - or by responding to this email.
D4K: It's Time to Qualify
It's Dressage 4 Kids season, and the Youth Dressage Festival is coming up fast.
The Youth Dressage Festival is the flagship event of Dressage4Kids, Inc. and is held annually in July or August. Instituted in 1999, the festival offers individual and team competition for riders from ages 4 through 21. Division championships feature a three-phased competition: a written test, an individual dressage test, and a group equitation ride.
D4K's Youth Dressage Festival in Saugerties, NY, has been moved from July 11-13 to August 8-10 this year. All other dates regarding deadlines remain the same, and riders are required to qualify to participate. Plan accordingly!
Congratulations go out to several of our riders who have already qualified - more on that to come!

Joke of the Month
This month we are substituting a Public Service Announcement for the Joke of the Month. Please take proper precautions.
Horse Hair Warning
Horse Hair: Potentially Dangerous!
In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of horses. This substance, called "amo-bacter equuii" has been linked with the following symptoms in female humans:
- Reluctance to cook
- Reluctance to perform housework
- Reluctance to wear anything but boots
- Reluctance to work except in support of a horse
- Physical craving for contact with horses (may be an addiction)
Beware: If you come in contact with a female human affected by this substance, be prepared to talk about horses for hours on end.
This has been a public service announcement.
